I would not confuse the number of available homes with having easy choices.
If you are worried there will not be enough to choose from, the answer is a little more nuanced than yes or no. Syosset, NY had homes on the market, but the homes buyers actually closed on were moving at a much faster pace than the older active pool.
At month end, Syosset, NY had 38 active listings, while only 9 new listings came to market over the previous 30 days. A typical sold home took 15 days, but homes still active were taking about 99 days.
That is why I tell buyers not to judge the market by count alone. There may be listings available, but the strongest fit for your needs may not sit there long, while weaker fits stay visible and make the market look more open than it really feels.
Review every listing through the lens of freshness, price position, and how it compares with recent closed homes. Prioritize new and well-aligned options first. I would rather have you tour six serious contenders than twenty listings that were never right for you.
