Utility Shutoff Protections End August 31

New Jersey's Summer Termination Program protects eligible residential customers from electric, water and sewer shutoffs through Monday, August 31. The protection directly applies to qualifying West Milford households, including customers receiving assistance through programs such as LIHEAP, TANF, SSI, PAAD, General Assistance, USF or Lifeline. Eligible residents must contact their utility company to request protection, and people facing hardship may also qualify under additional circumstances. The program does not erase accumulated bills, so participants remain responsible for payment arrangements.
