LAUSD Classes Begin For New School Year

Los Angeles Unified's 2026-2027 calendar sets Wednesday, August 12, as the first day of instruction. Woodland Hills schools including Woodland Hills Academy, Calabash Charter Academy, and Serrania Avenue Charter for Enriched Studies have posted the same opening date. Families should check their individual school's instructions for bell times, supplies, arrival procedures, and any orientation information. Calabash lists a 7:55 a.m. first-day start, while other campuses may use different schedules. The district calendar also lists September 4 as Admission Day, when schools will be closed.
