Free Stargazing Night At Addison Oaks

Addison Oaks County Park will host Meteors and More from 6:30 p.m. to midnight Friday, Aug. 14. The free event at 1480 West Romeo Road in Leonard will include children's activities, train rides, a solar system trail, family festivities and s'mores. Oakland Astronomy Club volunteers will give a presentation at 9 p.m., followed by telescope viewing and self-guided Perseid meteor watching from 9:30 p.m. to midnight. Registration is not required, but attendance is limited to the first 400 people. The event may be canceled for inclement weather; visitors can call 248-693-2432 if conditions are uncertain.
