Flood Assistance Applications Due August 31

Eligible New York City residents and businesses affected by the May 20, 2026 flash flooding have until August 31 to submit physical-damage SBA disaster loan applications. The assistance page says homeowners may seek up to $500,000 for primary-residence repairs, homeowners and renters up to $100,000 for damaged personal property, and business owners up to $2 million for physical losses. The page lists a Disaster Loan Outreach Center at 73-03 Bell Boulevard in Oakland Gardens, but its posted in-person closing date was July 21. Online filing remains available through the MySBA Loan Portal.
